Malaysia National Pavilion Settles in Shuangliu Pilot FTZ

An agreement on the launch of Malaysia National Pavilion (MNP) which will be located in Chengdu Shuangliu Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) was reached August 14, witnessed by representatives from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia, Embassy of Malaysia in Beijing, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.
As a major part of Sichuan Pilot FTZ, Shuangliu District will vigorously develop international trade, and promote exchange and cooperation in economy, culture and tourism with the southeast country, through the MNP project.
China is Malaysia's largest trading partner, and Chengdu is western China's most important center for economy, science & technology, finance, cultural & creative industry, international exchange, as well as transportation. There are a broad market prospect and plenty of resources for the cooperation between the city and the southeast country.
The 2,000-square meter pavilion is Malaysia's first one of its kind in China, with the aim to be a platform for the mutual partnership in economy, culture, education, tourism, exhibitions & conferences industry, investment and service sector.
On the day, Malaysia was invited to become the guest of honor of the sixth Chengdu International Urban Modern Agriculture Expo to be convened next year. And four major Malaysian food producers confirmed to locate in the Pavilion. And the MNP project owner signed cooperative agreements with two Chinese companies on the Pavilion's development in the future.
Upon completion in November, the Pavilion will make various authentic Malaysian products available to Chengdu residents.
