Lush Greenway Set to Blossom as Urban Eco Marvel

Authors: China Daily

Moscow is known as the "green capital" for its abundant and growing forested areas. Chengdu, a city in southwestern China with a population of 20 million, is embarking on a similar extraordinary journey.
Since the construction of the Tianfu Greenway began in September 2017, 1,585 kilometers have been completed. The Panda Greenway was open to the public in July.
The first phrase of Jincheng Green is very close to completion and work on the second phase will begin in September. The project for Longquan Mountain Urban Forest Park has been approved by city planning officials.
According to Chengdu's urban development plan, the region around the mountain will become a giant park with an area of 1,275 square kilometers, 1.7 times the space of the current central downtown areas.
As an accessible and participatory scenic greenway system, the Tianfu Greenway promises to link the city's established industrial clusters and its prospering newer clusters while integrating industrial and tourism resources.
The greenway system will favor all residents, including the new workers, with greater access to the natural world.
