Authors: Liao Wen

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), a global trade association of the shopping center industry, will co-hold, with the Chengdu Association of Building Economy Promotion (CABEP), the RECon China 2019 here in the city on June 17-19.
To present several conferences and an exhibition, the three-day event is expected to gather about 5,000 experts, scholars and professionals from all over the world in the commercial real estate sector, to explore Chengdu's latest developments in the commercial property industry.
Founded in 1957, ICSC is the world's largest trade association of the shopping center industry. It has more than 70,000 members in over 100 countries, including shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, retailers and brokers, as well as academics and public officials.
Last April, ICSC held the first RECon China in Shanghai. Mr. Scott Harris, Managing Director at ICSC Asia-Pacific, gave his reasons why ICSC had chosen Chengdu as the venue for the event to take place in June. "ICSC is committed to providing more people with top services. We have held many events in Beijing and Shanghai, and now we hope to set foot in southwest China. Chengdu is a good choice for us, because it is a very dynamic city, especially in the retailing industry, and we also have a good relationship with the CABEP," he said.
