First Sino-Finn CFSF Kicks off in Chengdu

The first Sino-Finn Creative Fashion Shopping Festival (CFSF) and Sino-Finn Brands Trading Fair was launched at the Floraland Theme Park in Chengdu’s Wenjiang District on 14 January.
The first Sino-Finn Creative Fashion Shopping Festival (CFSF) and Sino-Finn Brands Trading Fair was launched at the Floraland Theme Park in Chengdu’s Wenjiang District on 14 January. The event gathered various Chengdu’s local handicrafts and Finnish products.
The visiting Chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Finland and Finnish Finance Minister, Mr. Antti Rinne, attended the ceremony and expressed that he was delighted to witness increasing partnerships between Chengdu and Finland.
“Cultural exchange plays an important role in promoting bilateral friendly relationship. I hope Chengdu and Finland could strengthen cultural exchanges and cooperation in the future,” said Mr. Rinne.
The world’s second and China’s first Santa Park, an amusement park and a tourist attraction which was jointly built by Finland and Chengdu, has opened at the Floraland Theme Park. Mr. Rinne said that the Helsinki Festival, the largest-scale art festival in Finland, will be staged in Helsinki this summer. A large number of Chinese artists will take part in the event to further promote the bilateral cultural exchanges and deepen mutual understanding between the two peoples. “ I do believe that the direct air service between Sichuan and Finland is a very important way to enhance the mutual exchange,” said Mr. Rinne, noting that “it is of great significance to improve the two sides’ co-development in the tourist industry.”

Chengdu-Helsinki Direct Flight Hopefully to Open Next Year

“In September Chengdu and Helsinki reached consensus on launching direct air link between the two cities next year, and are discussing some details now,” said Mr. Jari Gustafsson, Ambassador of Finland to China, in an interview with Chengdu Daily during his first visit to Chengdu October 31.
