China-Uganda Investment Forum Convened in City

On April 10, the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in China, Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Offices of Sichuan Provincial Government and Chengdu Municipal Government, jointly organized the China-Uganda Investment Forum in Chengdu.
The event witnessed the attendance of Messrs. Vincent Ssempijja, Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries of Uganda, Crispus Kiyonga, Ugandan Ambassador to China, and representatives from relevant sectors in Chengdu.
At the event, the organizers showed Uganda's tourist resources and attractions via video. Messrs. Ssempijja and Kiyonga detailed the emerging opportunities for investment, industrial advantages as well as future prospects in the country.
Mr. Ssempijja expressed that his home nation, an ideal place for investment, boasts fertile soil, abundant fresh water, agreeable climate and cheap labor. He sincerely invited Chengdu companies to invest there.
Mr. Kiyonga expounded how to apply for a Ugandan visa, and relevant affairs involving investment in the country. In addition, he took advice from the city's industry representatives, with an aim to strengthen the economic and trade cooperation with Chengdu.
