In the first half of this year, the total foreign trade value between Sichuan and the Europe Union reached RMB53.94 billion, rising by 44.6％ from the same period of the previous year and accounting for 17.8％ of the province's total. As the capital city of Sichuan, Chengdu has been contributing the most to Sichuan's imports and exports, and Europe is obviously one of its very important trading partners.

The 2019 Chengdu International Business Experience Trip Europe Session, sponsored by the Chengdu Municipal Government, and co-organized by the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Commerce and Chengdu Qingbaijiang District People's Government, was launched on August 27 here in the city. During the five-day event, representatives from small- and medium-sized companies, industry associations and social institutions in European countries will visit some places in Chengdu to get an in-depth understanding of the city's urban development and industrial growth, as well as to seek opportunities to cooperate with their local counterparts.

"We are inspired by the friendly cooperation between Europe and Chengdu in recent years, and this time we would like to further and expand the partnership between us," said Mr. Kiran Patel, Executive Director of the China-Britain Business Council. Mr. Jonny Anderson, founder of the US-based Shed Studio, said, "I used to attend business events and conferences sponsored by Chengdu. As a representative from a foreign company, I have benefited a lot from the city. I'm very excited to see Chengdu's fast development, and look forward to further possible collaboration with it."

Before the opening ceremony, some guests expressed their desires to cooperate with their potential partners in the city.

During their stay in Chengdu, the foreign guests will experience the city's traditional culture, modern civilization and local people's lifestyle, to know more and better about the city.
