Chengdu, Nashville to Become Sister Cities-GoChengdu

On April 29, the Standing Committee of the Chengdu Municipal People’s Congress approved the establishment of a sister-city relationship between the city and Nashville, the United States.

Nashville, with an area of 1,362.5 square kilometers and a population of 693,000, is the capital of the State of Tennessee, the US. Known as a "Music City", the city is America's major center for music, especially for country music. And it is home to 180-plus music venues and 60,000 music professionals.

Over the recent years, both cities have been keeping productive exchanges and cooperation in such fields as music, culture, business and trade, and tourism.

From 2016 to 2019, some members of the Nashville City Council attended the annual Innovation Forum for Mayors of International Sister Cities of Chengdu held in the southwestern Chinese city.

In February 2018, Chengdu set up an oversea workstation in Nashville, which, since its founding, has been facilitating the ties between the two cities in music, cultural and creative industries, business and trade, and talents exchange.

In the future, Chengdu and Nashville will work more closely together to further the mutual partnership in more areas.

Chengdu, Zapopan to Establish Sister City Relationship

Chengdu and Zapopan, Mexico, will soon set up the sister city relationship, according to official sources from Chengdu Municipal Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office.
