2017 Budweiser Storm Electronic Dance Music (EDM) Festival was staged August 12-13 in Chengdu, offering a dynamic and energetic audio-visual feast to local EDM fans.
Al Rocco, a popular Chinese hip-hop star famous for his wonderful performances at "The Rap of China" talent show, Far East Movement, an Asian-American Hip-hop/dance music group, Kura, a Portuguese electro house music DJ, and other famous DJs across the world gathered together and unleashed their musical energy and passion.
It was the second consecutive year for Far East Movement to show up at the Budweiser Storm Festival in Chengdu. The group members expressed that they were highly impressed by the beautiful city's strong atmosphere of music and they hoped to try new music styles here.
During the event, gochengdu.cn interviewed Eric Zho, founder of A2LiVE, organizer of the festival. "It's the second year we hosted the event in Chengdu. Compared with the previous one, this one is more spectacular with more splendid and eye-catching stage effects, in particular, the special effects of 'fire'. It appeared on the Chinese music stage for the first time. We hope to inspire and motivate more local talented artists of Chengdu to go in for EDM, through the festival. Because the city is an ideal place for singers and musicians to grow and develop," said Eric. When asked why A2LiVE had chosen Chengdu to host the event for two consecutive years, the veteran in the entertainment industry noted two reasons: one is the local government's strong support for the music industry, and the other is the local people's enormous spending power and love for laidback life. Eric showed strong optimism for the prospect of the music industry in Chengdu, and hoped to contribute to the city's efforts to become China's "City of Music" in the future.
