On June 7, organized by Chengdu Rail Transit Co., Ltd., representatives from local citizens visited Asia’s largest parking lot for metro trains in Cuijiadian Station of the city’s Metro Line 7.
Guided by working staff, the visitors walked into the two-level "home" of the trains, which is 20 meters underground. The parking lot, 13 times the size of a standard football pitch, can house as many as 76 trains at a time.
By far, Metro Line 7 boasts the one with the city's largest number of trains, which requires such a large facility to house them. As a crucial part of Metro Line 7, the parking lot is used for anchoring and checking trains to run along the line.
Currently, workers are working hard on the installation and acceptance of all equipment and devices in the lot, to guarantee the line can be open to traffic by the end of 2017.
