On May 15, the Chengdu Panda Asian Food Festival (CPAFF) was unveiled here in the city.
The festival features four wonderful exhibitions of gastronomic culture, including "The Voice of Diet" —Cultural Experience on Table. From diverse perspectives they will give you an all-round understanding of the history, status quo and the future of food, as well as Chinese cuisine's global influence.

Time: From April 30 to June 9
Venue: Chengdu Museum (temporarily closed on the morning of May 16)
The exhibition is composed of four parts. Based on research results, with material objects, photos and documents, it depicts the history of the Chinese culinary culture ranging from Pre-Qin (Paleolithic period to 221 BC) to the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1616-1911) dynasties, meanwhile highlighting the cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries during this period and influence of the Chinese food culture on the world.

Chinese Food (Recipe) Document Exhibition

Time: From May 15 to June 15
Venue: Chengdu Museum (temporarily closed on the morning of May 16)
1,500 recipe books dated from the Ming and Qing dynasties to the 1980s display the history, change and development of Chinese gastronomic culture (recipes) in a panoramic way.

To boost exchanges and mutual learning among Asian countries in the cuisine culture, during the CPAFF, a food-themed exhibition will be held on the first floor of the Chengdu Museum, screening excellent films on special subjects, documentaries and short videos. Chen Shuo, a director of the popular documentary "A Bite of China II, " Martin Yan, a well-known TV cooking show anchor in America, and Er Mao, a poet and gastronome, will be present to promote the event and talk face to face with the audience.
