Procedures of Transnational Marriage Registration

The number of transnational marriage has been increasing in recent years and the partners of transnational marriage must know the procedures in applying for marriage registration in Chengdu.
In the first place, the partners must meet the requirements of Chinese laws and regulations.
They can apply for marriage registration in Chengdu as long as one of the partners is a resident within the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province.
The applicant of the residency in Sichuan must submit his/her valid ID card and residence household register, while the applicant of the residency in a foreign country/region must submit:
1. his/her valid passport or other valid international travel certificates;
2. the certificates to prove that he/she has no spouse, issued by the notary office or the authoritative agency in his/her home country and authenticated by the embassy (consulate) of the People's Republic of China in that country or home country's embassy (consulate) in China; or the above-mentioned certificates issued by the embassy (consulate) of the applicant's home country in China (the name, date of birth, and certificate number on the marriage status certificate must be in conformity with those appearing on the passport, and the applicant's current marital status must be clearly indicated as single on the single status certificate).
Tips:
1. the certificates of unmarried status of the partner is valid for six months since the date of issuance;
2. the above-mentioned certificates in a foreign language must be translated into Chinese.
The parties concerned shall provide 3 recent photos (150px×100px), half-length, bareheaded, glossy, red background
