The Laba Rice Porridge Festival is celebrated on the eighth day of the last lunar month in China, which falls on Jan. 2 this year. The Wenshu Monastery in downtown Chengdu is providing Laba rice porridge for free to local citizens.
The Laba Rice Porridge Festival is celebrated on the eighth day of the last lunar month in China, which falls on Jan. 2 this year.
According to the Chinese tradition, people should eat Laba rice porridge (made of many kinds of rice, beans, peanuts, dried fruits, and lotus seeds etc.) on the day.
The Wenshu Monastery is providing Laba rice porridge for free to local citizens.
The porridge cooked by the monastery is very popular among locals for its choice ingredients and delicious taste.

Notes
People to receive the porridge are advised to bring their containers, although free containers are also provided.
Only one bowl of porridge for a person each time.
