Qixi Festival, also known as the Chinese Valentine's Day, is on the 7th day of the 7th month on the Chinese calendar. The festival finds its origin in the ancient legend of two lovers, the Weaver Girl and the Cowherd Boy, who love each other but are forced to separate by the girl's mother, and they are allowed to meet only once in a year, on the 7th day of 7th lunar month.

According to a Chinese folk love legend, Niulang and Zhinu meet together annually on the 7th day of the 7th month on the Chinese calendar, which is the day of Qixi and considered as the Chinese Valentine’s Day by modern people.
