The seventh day of the seventh month in the Chinese lunar calendar, which falls on August 9 this year, has long been considered a day of love and romance by the Chinese people, who are moved by the legendary love story of the Weaver Girl and the Cowherd Boy that has continued for about 2,000 years. Traditionally, the day is called the Double Seventh Festival, and celebration of the day is gaining popularity in China, especially among people of the younger generations.
On the day before the festival, staff from local website GoChengdu.cn took to the street around Chengdu and used their cameras to record the romantic moments of lovers, who expressed love to each other with various poses. Most of the photos were taken at tourist spots and shopping sites in the city, such as the Chunxi Road, Hejiang Pavilion, and Wide and Narrow Alleys.
