Spring Festival is around the corner and many who are ready to celebrate the Year of the Dog will find that Chengdu is an ideal place to experience traditional folk customs.
The 2018 Chengdu "New Year Culture & Art Month" will kick off in Chengdu from late January to early March, with over 2,000 colorful activities covering symphonies, performances, temple fairs, films and lantern shows related to Spring Festival.
Each new year season, major attractions in Chengdu will hold a series of festive events with themes ranging from the folk customs, poetry and food. This year, the Chengdu Temple Fair in Wuhou Shrine Museum and 2018 Chengdu Jinsha Culture Festival will be held from Feb.13 to March 4, and the 9th Du Fu Culture Festival will be held from Feb.11 to March 4.
The 50th Chengdu International Panda Lanterns Show will start on Feb.10 and last till March 10 at Qicai Tianye Scenic Spot in east suburban Chengdu. As the largest lantern show of Chengdu, the panda lantern show is expected to bring audiences a delightful spectacle.
