Moderate temperature, abundant rainfall and the self rehabilitation of mother trees enable spring tea leaves to get stout and strong, taste fresh and sweet, and to exude a strong aromas. Spring tea is rich in vitamins, especially amino acids.
Traditional Chinese medicine believes that drinking tea in spring is good for health and can promote vitality in body.
The tea culture of Chengdu is famous in the country and scented flower tea is popular among local people. However, not all kinds of tea are suitable for everyone. People with different physical conditions need to drink different kinds of tea.
Tea is generally classified into six major categories in China, depending on the degree of fermentation and processing techniques. They are green tea, white tea, yellow tea, green tea, black tea and brick tea.

***Green Tea
The most popular type of tea in China, green tea is not fermented. The high content of polyphenols in green tea has effects like reducing inflammation and helping to fight cancer.
Chengdu's Pujiang County and Qionglai City are known for the production of some of the best green tea in the country.
Suitable for: long-time working people and young people working on computer for long hours
Notes: people who have sleeping troubles are not recommended to drink green tea.
***White Tea
White tea is known to be one of the most delicate tea varieties because it is so minimally processed. White tea is harvested before the tea plant's leaves open fully, when the young buds are still covered by fine white downs, hence the name "white" tea.
These buds and unfurled leaves from the newest growth on the tea plant are handpicked and then quickly and meticulously dried, so the leaves are not allowed to oxidize.
If the tea is prepared in a tureen cup, the color of the tea might be light yellow.
Suitable for: People under a heavy stress
Notes: White tea is good for children to protect their eyes.
*** Yellow Tea
Yellow tea's production is similar to green tea, but it undergoes a process in which the tea is encased and steamed. This additional step helps remove the characteristic grassy smell associated with green tea, and allows yellow tea to oxidize at a slower rate to produce a lovely, mellow taste and defining color.
However, recent research into yellow tea suggests that it has many remarkable health benefits. Yellow tea is believed to have similar benefits to green tea such as preventing cancer and lowering cholesterol, and it may be more effective than other teas in preventing liver damage.
Suitable for: people who have indigestion and a poor appetite
Generally speaking, it is recommended that people have tea 1 or 2 times each day with 3 to 5 grams leaves and less than 400 milliliters each time.
