Vito Lo Castro opened his new Club, Memory of Sicily, in Chengdu June 21.
From Sicily, Italy, Vito worked in Beijing for years and now has been in Chengdu since retirement, managing his trade company selling food and wines imported from Sicily.
"A livable city, Chengdu boasts unique food culture," said Vito, making Chengdu as his second hometown.
His company flourishing, Vito founded the club in November 2017 to serve as a venue where people could enjoy food and drinks, as well as talk about art, poetry, philosophy and so on.
In Chengdu he has made friends from all walks of life, and feels that the "old club" could no longer meet the demands of the growing number of visitors. The solution is that he moved it to a more spacious villa, located at Jinxiu Garden, Wuhou District.
On the day of the club's opening ceremony Vito had good news ― Sichuan Airlines declared to open a new route linking Chengdu and Rome.
Hearing the news, Vito was so delighted. He told his guests that Memory of Sicily would launch a new service to organize club members to travel in his hometown Sicily.
"I hope that more Chengdu people can visit Italy, to enjoy the beautiful scenery and vineyards there," said Vito.
