It comprises two L-shaped buildings which read as separate halves of a whole. The taller of the two contains the hotel, while the smaller building houses serviced apartments.

Following the successful launch of The Opposite House in Beijing and The Upper House in Hong Kong, Swire Hotels has opened its third property from The House Collective, The Temple House, in Chengdu. This new hotel creates a distinctive facility for the city, offering boutique hotel services, extensive public spaces and a striking landscape design which forms a new focal point within the Chengdu cityscape.
Located in the heart of the city, within the Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu, the hotel was designed by internationally-renowned architectural firm Make Architects. The 100-room hotel and its 42 adjoining serviced apartments form an integral part of the city government's conservation project to preserve the surrounding heritage buildings next to the thousand-year-old Daci Monastery.
Offering a contemporary interpretation of traditional Chinese design and modern design, the hotel embraces a typical courtyard house configuration. The Temple House offers a dynamic collection of outlets including The Temple Café - the all-day dining restaurant, Tivano – an authentic Italian restaurant and Jing Bar featuring live DJs.
