As the earliest alloy on Earth, bronze is a mixture of copper and tin (or lead). Though currently so many ancient bronze art works can be seen at museums around the world, the metal has receded from people's daily lives. Xu Liaoyuan, a famous contemporary artist in Chengdu, has created many art works using bronze and endows them with a new aesthetic appeal.
The Buoy of Time·Xu Liaoyuan's Art Works Exhibition is being staged at the contemporary bronze art hall of XLY MOMA, displaying over 100 bronze works created by Xu. The exhibits looking light and mild, such as figure-shaped chairs, sofas and back cushions, are quite different from the bronze ware in the ancient times.
