Two exhibitions featuring Chinese calligraphy and seal carving works of Du Fu's poems are being staged at the Du Fu's Thatched Cottage Museum. Du Fu (712–770) was a prominent Chinese poet in the Tang Dynasty (618–907).
The calligraphy exhibition displays works by famous Chinese calligraphers of different styles. The one of seal carving art showcases 104 excellent works carved with Du Fu's poems, some of which carved with the same poem by artists of different styles, show very different kinds of charm of the art.
Originating in China, seal carving, also called seal cutting, or zhuanke in Chinese (篆刻), is a traditional form of art, by which different patterns are carved onto the bottom faces of seals.
