A photo exhibition titled Being Blossom-Wildlife Photographer of the Year is underway at Chengdu Museum, highlighting 87 sets/pieces of prize-winning photos selected from over 50,000 sets/pieces of entries of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. It is the first time that the event organizer has exhibited such winning photos in Chengdu.
The Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition was launched in 1965, when the BBC Wildlife Magazine was called Animals. As a leading event for nature photographers across the world, it grew in stature over the years, and in 1984, the Natural History Museum became involved to create the competition as it is today.
Now thousands of entries are received annually from almost 100 countries and regions around the globe. There is a major exhibition at the Museum that tours worldwide throughout the year.
