Picking grapes, pears and kiwi fruit will prove the most fruitful employment of leisure time in the golden autumn for the people in Chengdu, and numerous orchards around the city are opening up for visitors to have a “hand to mouth” experience of seasonal fruits and enjoy the idyllic life in the countryside.
Shuangliu County: grapes

To taste the hand-picked grapes at farms is for sure a lot more fun than just buying grapes at groceries or supermarkets without any knowledge of where the stuff coming from, and here we recommend a popular place in Shuangliu County of southern Chengdu to pick grapes.
The unique climate and fertile soil in the region provide advantageous conditions for producing high-quality red grapes in the grape gardens at Pengzhen Township in Shuangliu County, one of the largest grape production bases in Chengdu where the tasty red grapes are seen drooping on the vines in the vast vineyard.

Visitors to the garden can have the experience of working on the farms and joining in the pleasure of picking their fruit as well as taking pictures in the field. There are plenty of ladders available for visitors to get the pears above, but many of the trees are low enough to give you an easy reach.
