Day 2: Visit Sichuan Cuisine Experience Park

Destination: Sichuan Cuisine Experience Park, Pixian County
This is a tour of a unique culinary experience designed for people who love to travel, cook, eat and learn.
A one-hour drive and you’ll get to Sichuan Cuisine Experience Park, which is located in Ande Township of Pixian County and only 28km away from downtown Chengdu. The park is a cultural theme scenic spot for culinary culture, food experience, shopping and recreation, where people can visit the food production lines and get true understanding of the world famous Sichuan Cuisine.
Pixian County is home to Pixian Douban (chili bean paste), which is considered as the Soul of Sichuan Cuisine and the indispensable ingredient of many Sichuan dishes.

Traffic:
A. Chengdu Metro Line 2 (Xipu Stop) — transfer to public bus No.740 (Ande Towship Stop)
B. Self-drive: from downtown Chengdu to Ande Township Exit on the Chengdu-Dujiangyan Highway

Highlights:
A. the Culture Museum (Sichuan Cuisine Culture Museum)

Here you can learn about the origin and evolution of the Sichuan Cuisine culture, and have the opportunity to learn how to cook Sichuan dishes.
The museum showcases the history, heritage, and the cultural influence of Sichuan dishes in the world. It covers an area of more than 4,000 sq. m and consists of 6 exhibition sections. A collection of ancient culinary implements of the history spanning 2, 000 years, including bronze, pottery, porcelain and wood cookers, is on display at the hall of “History of Sichuan Cuisine”.
The application of digital technologies at the museum brings life to the exhibits and at the virtual Kitchen provides visitors a real-life experience of cooking Sichuan food.



B. the Gourmet Town

The Town with an area of 23, 000 sq. m is a multi-functional site that incorporates culture, recreation and sightseeing at one place.
