Baoguang Monastery is located in Xindu District, which is also called the “City of Fragrance” for the thousands of osmanthus trees planted around the town.
The magnificent monastery in Xindu District has a long history and a rich collection of relics, including some of the most precious items such as the magnolia delavayi, palm-leaf manuscript and Sarira. The Arhat Hall in the monastery, built in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), is the oldest and largest of its kind in China.
