Chengdu is making greatest efforts to ensure safe and orderly resumption of construction of stadiums and venues for the 2021 Summer World University Games amid the novel coronavirus outbreak.
Currently, Chengdu is speeding up the construction of major sports venues which meet the highest international standards, are well planned, highly reflects the city's unique characteristics, can give a strong impetus to its effort to become a world-famous city of sports events, as well as can satisfy local people's ever-growing needs for a better life.
Now, the construction of 12 new stadiums and venues for the 2021 Summer World University Games is progressing well and 37 old ones are under renovation and upgrading. Just after the Chinese Spring Festival, the Dongan Lake Sports Center resumed construction. And a number of other projects, including the Phoenix Hill Sports Park, Xiangcheng Sports Center in Xindu District, Chengdu Shooting and Archery School and Universiade Village, are making active preparations for the safe and orderly resumption of construction.
