City Furthers Ties with Sister Cities-GoChengdu

The 2018 Innovation Forum for Mayors of International Sister Cities of Chengdu took place here in the city May 19.

The event saw the attendance of over 240 distinguished guests from 30 countries, international organizations, as well as political and commercial circles.

Forty representatives from Chengdu's sister cities took the floor at a roundtable. Delegates from Chengdu, Toronto (Canada), Nuremberg (Germany), Sydney (Australia), Haifa (Israel) and Nottingham (the UK) delivered keynote speeches on opportunities and challenges brought about by the new economies to cities.

At the forum, Chengdu came into memorandums of understanding with Kampala (Uganda) on the establishment of a friendly and cooperative relationship, with Kandy (Sri Lanka) on deepening the friendly and cooperative partnership. In addition, it inked a letter of intent with Toronto on cooperation in economy and culture.

Chengdu, Daegu to Establish Sister City Relationship

The cities of Chengdu and Daegu, the Republic of Korea, will establish sister city relationship this year, according to official sources from Chengdu Municipal Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office.
