Chengdu, La Plata to Establish Sister-city Relationship-GoChengdu

The Standing Committee of the Chengdu Municipal People’s Congress approved by voting the establishment of the sister-city relationship between the city and La Plata, Argentina, at a plenary meeting convened on February 24.

La Plata is the capital of Buenos Aires Province. It is the political, administrative and educational center of the province and the fourth most populated city in Argentina. Its financial, educational, cultural and sports sectors are well-developed.

After establishing the tie, the two sides will set up specific mechanisms for exchange of scholar visits and information, and co-promote cooperation in renewable energy, manufacturing, agriculture, education and civil service.
