Forty three panda sculptures from Chengdu were on display in “the Gardens of the World” in Berlin, Germany, on May 21-23.
The colorful panda sculptures were created by young artists from Chengdu. The “pandas” on display were selected out of more than 3,000 works because of their representational value for China and the Chinese culture.
“These pandas stand for different attitudes, emotions and values that Chinese youth hold. We want to be heard by the world,” said Chen Mimi, the initiator of the panda painting activity.
The sculptures exhibition, themed “Heart Panda”, is part of “Experience China”, a two-week cultural event held in Berlin to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Germany.
After Berlin, Chinese panda sculptures will travel around the world to draw more people’s attention to the charm of Chengdu and China.
