World Cities Culture (Tianfu) Symposium to Take Place in City-GoChengdu

The World Cities Culture (Tianfu) Symposium 2018 is to be convened in Chengdu on June 20-22.

The event is co-organized by the World Cities Culture Forum (WCCF) and Chengdu Municipal People's Government, and undertaken by Chengdu Media Group.

Delegates from WCCF members and countries along the Belt and Road, consular officials from foreign consulates in Chengdu, and representatives from foreign chambers of commerce in China, cultural and creative organizations at home and abroad, as well as well-known universities in the city, will gather together for cultural cooperation and exchange in the context of the Belt and Road development.

WCCF, initiated by the Greater London Authority in 2012, currently has 38 member cities worldwide, including London, New York, Paris, Sydney, Rome, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo and Milan. It provides a way for policy makers in cities to share research and intelligence, and explore the vital role of culture in their future prosperity.

Chengdu Listed on GaWC Global City Rankings

GaWC (Globalization and World Cities Research Network), a think tank based at Loughborough University in England that studies the relationships between world cities in the context of globalization, released a report titled The World According to GaWC 2016 earlier this year. Chengdu ranked seventh among all Chinese cities surveyed.
