Many world-famous auto makers, including FAW-Volkswagen, Sichuan FAW Toyota and Volvo Cars have set up their manufacturing facilities in Chengdu .
The first car produced by the Chengdu plant of Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Auotomobile Co., Ltd. (DPCA) rolled off the production line on September 7. So far, many world-famous auto makers, including FAW-Volkswagen, Sichuan FAW Toyota and Volvo Cars have set up their manufacturing facilities in the Chengdu Economic & Technological Development Zone, an international auto city.
1. CPCA's Chengdu plant
It took the plant only 23 months to build its production facility and manufacture its first Peugeot 4008 car. With an annual capacity of 240,000 vehicles under brands Citroen, Peugeot and Dongfeng in the first phase, the plant primarily produces sports utility vehicles (SUVs) and multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs), as well as new energy vehicles.
2. FAW-VW Chengdu plant

The FAW-VW Chengdu plant was brought under construction on May 8, 2009. Covering more than 1.3 million square meters and with over 10,000 employees now, it primarily manufactures Sagitar (Jetta). The plant plays an important role in the FAW group's development in southwest China.
3. FAW Toyota Chengdu Plant
Established in 1998, the Sichuan FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd is the first auto-manufacturing joint venture invested by Toyota in China. Currently, with an annual capacity of 50,000 vehicles, it produces COASTER, PRADO 4.0 L and PRADO 2.7 L.
4. Volvo Chengdu Plant
As the first overseas plant of the Volvo Cars, the Volvo Chengdu plant was put into production on August 28, 2013. It adheres to the Volvo Cars Manufacturing System and standard, and has unique advantages in environmental protection.
