The electronic information industry is the most competitive sector in the city, with an annual output value amounting to RMB480 billion in 2016, increasing by 3.5% year on year. Of the amount, the city's yearly revenue from the software business hitting RMB230 billion, up 12% over a year ago.
The city will give strong impetus to developing the modern service industry and strive to achieve a gross industrial output value of RMB1 trillion by 2020. The electronic information output value will reach RMB570 billion, an average yearly growth of of 20%. And the software and information service industry's output value will hit RMB 430 billion, a year-on-year increase of 16% on average.
The city has developed a complete electronic information industrial system, which involves integrated circuit, electro-optic display, intelligent terminal, network communication, electron component and software and service outsourcing. Many international and domestic companies in the area have set foot in the city, including Dell, Lenovo, Foxconn, Huawei, Siemens and ZTE.
