Polish Ambassador to China: PITA to Locate in Chengdu-GoChengdu

A representative office of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PITA) will be set up in Chengdu, revealed Mr. Wojciech Zajączkowski, Polish Ambassador to China, when he was interviewed by Chengdu media during his first visit to the city this week.

What do you think of your visit to Chengdu?

Mr. Zajączkowski: Chengdu, with rapid economic and social growth, is a city full of vitality. The Chengdu-Europe Express Rail links Chengdu and Poland closely. Currently, Chengdu is cooperating with my home nation in a series of projects. This is my first time to visit the city. I'm fascinated by the Chengdu Museum, which is close to the Tianfu Square in the city center.

What positive influence does the Consulate General of Poland in Chengdu on the partnership between Chengdu and Poland?

Mr. Zajączkowski: The establishment of the consulate general embodies our ardent hope to work more closely with Chengdu. In the near future, a PITA representative office will be open in Chengdu. It will be the agency's second one in China, following that in Shanghai.

What benefits has the Chengdu-Europe Express Rail service brought about to both Chengdu and Poland?

Mr. Zajączkowski: To gain a strong foothold in the Chinese market, we shall target a city where we can be anchored in the country's western regions. For us, Chengdu is such an important place. Lodz, the third largest city in Poland, enjoys a booming economy and favorable location. As the terminal city of the Chengdu-Europe Express Rail, it will strengthen the mutual ties between China and Poland.
