Chengdu Sees 13.1% Growth in Foreign Trade in Jan-Feb

According to the latest statistics released on March 11 by Chengdu Customs, the city realized a total foreign trade volume of RMB86.72 billion in this year’s first two months, rising 13.1% from the same period of a year ago.
Despite the temporary impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, Chengdu maintained a stable growth momentum in both exports and imports, which rose 2% and 27% to RMB43.38 billion and RMB43.34 billion respectively.

And the Chengdu Hi-Tech Comprehensive Bonded Zone, with a gross foreign trade volume hitting RMB67.27 billion in the past two months, topped all of its Chinese counterparts.
The statistics also show three features of the city's current foreign trade operation. "The processing trade in the city is developing fast, making up an increasing share of the total; the imports and exports between Chengdu and countries and regions along the Belt and Road are increasing continually; and, titanium dioxide, liquid crystal display (LCD), color TV and integrated circuit are now the most popular goods in the trade," a representative from Chengdu Customs said.
