Int’l ICH Festival to Take Place in Chengdu

The 6th China Chengdu International Festival of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) will be staged June 10-18 in Chengdu.
The Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China announced, at a press conference on May 23, that the 6th China Chengdu International Festival of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) will be staged June 10-18 in Chengdu.
Themed "lively practice of inheritance and development," the grand cultural event, inaugurated in 2007, is expected to see the participation of millions of local citizens.
The festival will include an opening ceremony, an international ICH-themed session and forum, shows and performances of ICHs from across the world, exhibitions of achievements in ICHs, shows of China's traditional performing arts, as well as ICH-related promotional programs and activities.
It's noteworthy that as a major highlight of the event, exhibitions to take place inside the city's ICH park, main venue for the festival, will offer a visual feat of intangible cultural heritages with astounding craftsmanship from across the globe.
4 types of competitive ICH-themed programs involving traditional martial arts, traditional handicrafts, folk songs and dragon boat races will be held for the first time.
It is anticipated that more than 500 international delegates from over 100 nations, regions and global organizations will attend the event, which will present 1100 ICH projects involving around 2600 exhibitors, performers and inheritors.

5th IFICH Opens

The Fifth International Festival of Intangible Cultural Heritage (IFICH) kicked off on September 11 at the International Intangible Cultural Heritage Park in Chengdu.
