96% feel comfortable and convenient living in the city, 95% express their love for the city, and 91% think that Chengdu people are friendly according to the survey.
In June, the Chengdu Municipal Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, Chengdu Economic Daily, and gochengdu.cn jointly launched a large-scale survey titled "Home in Chengdu" among foreigners in Chengdu. Recently, the organizers released the findings of the survey, which indicate that respondents show satisfaction with most services Chengdu offers to foreigners in the city.
The results show that 99% of the surveyed feel safe living in Chengdu, 96% feel comfortable and convenient living in the city, 95% express their love for the city, and 91% think that Chengdu people are friendly.
To offer more convenience and a better living environment for foreign citizens working, living and studying in the city, and enhance their sense of inclusiveness, the city initiated the program in the first half of the year.
The survey which was conducted by way of face-to-face interview and online questionnaire on gochengdu.cn involved such aspects as public traffic, foreign-oriented education, medical service, travel service, foreign-oriented banking service, cultural & sports service, and information availability, etc.
Among 136 completed questionnaires collected, 100 are valid. The 100 respondents are from 37 countries and regions throughout the world. Among them, 25% are from the US, followed by those from the UK, Australia and India.
