Germany’s Bavaria Establishes Representative Office in Chengdu

The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Energy and Technology of German, set up July 18 its Sichuan representative office in Chengdu, which is the ministry’s third such office in China.
Bavaria is one of the strongest economic regions in Europe and enjoys an excellent global reputation as a high-tech location. It is home to the headquarters of many well-known companies, including BMW, Siemens and BASF.
"Chengdu is the best choice for us to locate our third China office," said Mr. Franz Josef Pschierer, State Minister of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Energy and Technology. "After having visited the infrastructure projects and global startup accelerator Starupbootcamp in the city, I found that Chengdu is an ideal place for investors and startups," he added.
The office will act as a service platform for companies from Sichuan and Bavaria, with the aim to facilitate the exchange and cooperation between the two sides, according to Mr. Pschierer. Both parties will explore the potentials for mutual collaboration in the fields of railway transportation, tourism, conventions and expositions, health care, education and logistics, etc.
