With the support from both home and abroad, Chengdu is making its greatest efforts to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
On February 10, Chengdu received 1,000 surgical goggles donated by the government of Montpellier, France, one of Chengdu's sister cities, to support the city to curb the spread of the COVID-19.
In the past few days, Chengdu also received messages from some other foreign cities. In their letters, the mayors of Lviv, Ukraine, Tilburg, the Netherlands, and Melbourne, Australia extended their sincere sympathies to the Chengdu people over the COVID outbreak, and expressed they would try their best to provide medical supplies and seek other ways to do something for the city.
