City Launches “Living in Chengdu” Survey among Foreigners

In order to provide foreign nationals living in Chengdu with better public services and conveniences, facilitate their lives and work in the city, the city launched a“Living in Chengdu”program in the first half of the year.
According to a document issued by the National Development and Reform Commission on May 4th, 2016, Chengdu, to be built as a national major city, will enhance its functions as western China's center of economics, science, culture, hi-tech innovation, and international exchange, as well as a comprehensive traffic hub.
In order to provide foreign nationals living in Chengdu with better public services and conveniences, facilitate their lives and work in the city, the city launched a“Living in Chengdu”program in the first half of the year.
The program involves 17 specific items regarding to foreigners' daily lives in the city, such as launching a website, a mobile APP and a WeChat public account specially for them, establishing entry-exit service stations in communities with foreign residents, offering Chinese language training courses to foreigners, building international hospitals with private investment, offering updated Chinese-English information on purchasing or renting houses in the city, and opening more international (including regional) direct flights between the city and other parts of the world, etc.
In hopes of collecting foreigners' views and suggestions for the city on bettering its services for the foreign residents, today, the Chengdu Municipal Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, gochengdu.cn and Chengdu Economic Daily, jointly launched a“Living in Chengdu”survey among foreigners living in the city, and an English questionnaire for the event was posted on goChengdu.cn simultaneously.
The survey is conducted by way of online questionnaire and/or face-to-face interview. Any foreign citizen who has stayed in the city for over 3 months is welcome to log onto gochengdu.cn to answer the questionnaire.
All answers to be collected will be submitted to a government office responsible for the city's“Living in Chengdu”program, and will be treated as important references by relevant government departments to improve their services for foreign residents. Gochengdu.cn will also pay continuous attention to any betterment of all government policies and measures involved.
