On the morning of November 8, American talent Dr. Chen Jinchuan from Southwest Jiaotong University received the first work permit for foreigners in Sichuan issued by the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Foreign Expert Affairs.
According to the requirements of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, from October 2016 to March 2017, the program involving the issuance of work permits for foreign nationals are enforced in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanghai, Anhui, Shandong, Guangdong, Sichuan and Ningxia on a trial basis. As one of the first pilot cities, Chengdu started issuing the permit on November 1.
As the first foreign citizen to get the permit in Sichuan, Dr. Chen said, "The online application for the permit is very convenient. It takes only 5 working days from online submission to the certificate issuance. "
