Chengdu Has 9 More Historical, Cultural Sites under Provincial Protection

Sichuan announced its latest list of historical and cultural sites protected at the provincial level.
On January 15, Sichuan announced its latest list of historical and cultural sites protected at the provincial level. Among the 327 candidates, 196 which are movable, including 9 in Chengdu, are on the list.

According to the list, the 9 sites in Chengdu are Donghua Gate historical site and Shaanxi Guild Hall in Qingyang District, King Yu Fu's tomb in Wenjiang District, Taiqing Taoist Temple in Pujiang County, stone memorial archway and screen wall on Mt. Tiantai, as well as old building Haiwu in Qionglai City, Yuantong Catholic Church in Chongzhou City, the former residence of Zhang Daqian in Jinniu District, and the cemetery of "2.16" revolutionary martyrs in Chenghua District.
By far, a total of 1,165 historical and cultural sites has been brought under the provincial protection in Sichuan, more than 10 of which are applying for being included into the country's eighth batch of key historical and cultural sites protected at the state level.

Dujiangyan irrigation system wins world irrigation award

The Chengdu’s Dujiangyan irrigation system, along with other three ancient irrigation sites in China, was recognized as Heritage Irrigation Structure by the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID) in Saskatoon, Canada on August 13.
