Chengdu ranks the first thanks to its outstanding performance in 16 indices.

The three-day 5th China (Chengdu) International Science Fiction Conference was open on November 22 at the Eastern Suburb Memory Park in the city, seeing the presence of 60 overseas guests from 14 countries and over 300 well-known Chinese sci-fi writers, scholars and industrial insiders.

At the opening ceremony, a report about the sci-fi index of Chinese cities was launched. Chengdu ranks the first thanks to its outstanding performance in 16 indices involving sci-fi industry growth, policy support, media attention, as well as the public's recognition of the sci-fi culture and industry.
The event that will be ended on November 24 will present a series of activities and programs in the following two days, including forums, book signing sessions and film screening events, all of which will be themed around sci-fi culture and sci-fi industry.
