Chengdu Library announced on August 6 that it will restart service of extended hours from August 10. The opening hours will be extended to 9:00 to 20:30 daily, and 9:00 to 12:00 on Wednesday.

The Chengdu Library is the first of its kind in China to use a social security card as a reader's card, allowing children and adolescents under the age of 16 to borrow books from the library without having to use their parents' ID cards.
