The arrival of the Reading Pavilion in Chengdu is in the wake of the hot waves in Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai and Xi’an.
The Reading Pavilion, part of the popular TV program The Readers of China Central Television (CCTV), made its first apperance in Chengdu on April 12, waiting for local residents to read aloud poems, essays, and even the writings of their own.
The Reading Pavilion, equipped with a professional recording device and a camera, will be installed at several sites in the city, including the Yongling Museum, Aux Plaza, Nanjiao Park and campuses of local colleges.

The program The Readers has kindled people's love of reciting as a way of expressing themselves for their love of literature. The arrival of the Reading Pavilion in Chengdu is in the wake of the hot waves in Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai and Xi'an.
In a small enclosure about the size of a telephone booth, participants can record themselves reading in any language. The program will select the most touching ones to include in the show that airs on CCTV.
The Reading Pavilion will open to the public 10:00-18:00 during the period from April 12 to April 25.
