Lewis Hamilton came to Chengdu and saw the giant pandas before he won the F1 Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai on April 9.
The 3-time Formula One (F1) World Champion Lewis Hamilton paid a visit to Chengdu on April 4 and visited the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding before the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix took place in Shanghai on April 9.
The racing car driver told the reporter from www.gochengdu.cn on April 4 that the Chengdu stay was his first time to see pandas and he believed that the black and white color of the panda (same color of the F1 flag) would bring good luck to him.
"Today has enhanced my love for China and its people, its values and culture; Chengdu is a beautiful city and I can't wait to come back," he said.
The pandas had brought good luck to Lewis Hamilton. He won the 2017 Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai 5 days later.
