Sichuan Grand Theatre
Based on the figures of the 24 musicians and dancers carved on the stone coffin, discovered at Yongling Mausoleum in downtown Chengdu, also known as the Royal Tomb of Wang Jian (847-918), founder of the Former Shu Kingdom (907-925) during the period of the Five Dynasties (709-960), a concept drama featuring Chinese traditional music and dance will be staged at Sichuan Grand Theatre on the evening of Jan. 19, 2020.
The show tells a story about a modern lady who wants to revive the ancient music of the Former Shu Kingdom. The 22 musicians and 2 dancers will see their revival via old music and modern dance. 23 pieces/sets of instruments of 20 kinds will be used by the 22 musicians in the drama.
