As the most special and the first video in the series of FOOD FUN IN CHENGDU, "Pandas's 'Afternoon Tea'" shows how the nutritious "afternoon tea" snack for giant pandas is made.
The main character in the footage is a giant panda called Xilai, who is known for his laziness ― he doesn't like exercises and even shows no active attitude during the afternoon tea. His keeper has to find a way to lure the panda to stand up by hanging food on the bamboo pole in order to help the pet do some exercise while eating.
With the Chengdu Panda Asian Festival around the corner, GoChengdu.cn shoot the video series Food Fun in Chengdu, which aims at recording how new-Chengduers cook food with typical Chengdu flavors.
The first protagonist of the video is the giant panda, the second an Israeli man who marries a Chengdu girl and the third a general manager who works in a luxury hotel-Temple House in Chengdu. They are not Chengdu locals in a traditional way, but they are part of the city as "New Chengdu People".
There is a growing number of foreigners who enjoy life in the city. Their stories about the delicacies show the city's cultural diversity and inclusiveness.
