Millennia-Old Melodies of Shu Palace amidst Blossoms of the Brocade City—Aesthetic Exhibition of Instrumental Musical Drama Shu Palace Music Banquet by The 24 Musicians

 

 

With the main narrative centered on the immersive Chinese-style instrumental musical drama Shu Palace Music Banquet, the exhibition presents a display of over 20 ancient musical instruments, including jiegu (traditional Chinese hourglass-shaped drum), konghou (Chinese harp), pipa (pear-shaped stringed instrument), and bili (double reed wind instrument), as well as over 10 pieces or sets of exclusive costumes, props, stage installations, and other items from the drama.

Spanning from the late Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty to the modern era, the exhibits present authentic pieces by over 10 prominent artists from the cultural circle in Sichuan and Chongqing.

An Xiang Ying Xiu Chinese-Style Concert

 

 

With a diverse range of musical instruments, including guzheng (Chinese plucked zither), erhu, guqin, konghou, pipa, zhongruan (Chinese plucked string instrument), Chinese drum, traditional percussion, dongxiao (vertical end-blown flute), and piano, the concert presents the audience with a “new Chinese-style” music feast that blends traditional heritage with contemporary aesthetics.

China Dance Lotus Awards Winner—Dance Drama Du Fu by Han Zhen and Zhou Liya

 

 

The production is the first dance drama in China themed on Du Fu, the “sage of poetry”. It is the recipient of the Wenhua Director Award at the 18th Wenhua Awards and the winner of the Dance Drama Award at the China Dance Lotus Awards, the most prestigious dance honor in China.
