According to the latest results of international air route approvals from the Civil Aviation Administration of China, applications by Chinese and international airlines to newly launch or increase flights on six direct international air routes from Chengdu have been approved, with some of the routes to be officially launched in the coming days.

 

 

The details are as follows:

 

 

Sichuan Airlines has applied to launch a new direct all-cargo route from Chengdu to Budapest, operating two flights per week.

 

Sichuan Airlines has applied to launch a new direct passenger and cargo route from Chengdu to Busan, operating seven flights per week.

 

Air China has applied to increase flights on the direct passenger and cargo route from Chengdu to London, operating two flights per week.

 

Vietnam’s Sun PhuQuoc Airways has applied to launch a new direct passenger route from Chengdu to Phu Quoc Island, operating three flights per week.

 

Kyrgyzstan’s AeroStan has applied to launch a new direct all-cargo route from Chengdu to Bishkek, operating three flights per week.

 

France’s FTL Airlines has applied to launch a new direct all-cargo route from Chengdu to Paris, operating four flights per week.

 

 

Air China’s increased flights on the direct route from Chengdu to London were put into operation on July 12.

 

 

On the same day, Air China resumed its direct route from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to London Gatwick Airport. Combined with the existing direct flights from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to London Heathrow Airport, Chengdu’s direct air connections to London now link the city to two major airports in the UK, with services operating through both airports.

 

 

Located in western London, London Heathrow Airport is the largest airport in the UK and one of the busiest airports in the world. London Gatwick Airport in southern London is the UK’s second-largest airport.

 

By connecting to the two major aviation hubs in western and southern London, the air route will further enhance travel convenience for passengers and strengthen Chengdu’s role as an international aviation hub.

 

 

The new direct air route from Chengdu to Phu Quoc Island applied for by Vietnam’s Sun PhuQuoc Airways will commence operations on July 16.

 

 

The route from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to Phu Quoc Island marks Sun PhuQuoc Airways’ first route in the Chinese mainland market. Three weekly round-trip flights are scheduled to operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

 

 

Previously, Xizang Airlines launched a direct air route from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to Phu Quoc Island, operating two flights per week on Thursdays and Sundays. With the addition of Sun PhuQuoc Airways, travelers from southwestern China will enjoy significantly enhanced convenience in reaching Vietnam’s largest island. Passengers departing from Chengdu can reach Phu Quoc International Airport in 3.5 hours and enjoy the freedom of a convenient island holiday with visa-free entry.
