Chengdu Wuhou Shrine Museum received the most visits in 2021 with 8.7 million people, followed by Beijing's Palace Museum with 5.87 million, according to the National Cultural Heritage Administration.

Chengdu Wuhou Shrine Museum consists of three parts: cultural heritage area, cultural experience area and Jinli Ancient Street.

It is one of China's most influential museums in terms of cultural relics relating to the Three Kingdoms (220-280AD), which was the tripartite division of China among the dynastic states of Cao Wei, Shu Han and Eastern Wu. The capital of Shu Han is today's Chengdu.

The Museum includes the shrines honoring and memorizing Liu Bei (founder of the Shu Kingdom), Zhuge Liang (Liu Bei's minister, an incarnation of wisdom and loyalty in Chinese history) and other Shu Han heroes. It is the only temple in the country where the emperor and his ministers are worshiped together.

During the Shu Kingdom, Jinli Ancient Street was one of the busiest business centers. Housing bars, restaurants, shops and teahouses, today's new upgraded street with ancient architectures, is still a popular tourist attraction for both Chinese and foreign visitors.
