Joseph Hope, who grew up on the western coast of the United States, decided to stay in Chengdu after ending his study to Chengdu. Now, he is an English teacher at a kindergarten in Chengdu.

Joseph's first visit to Chengdu was in the spring of 2014, when he came as a student in the project between his college and the G-MEO Chengdu American Center. "Before that, I knew very little about Chengdu, even about China." The 3-month stay in Chengdu made a great change in his understanding of China, and in his attitude towards life.

Then he started to explore the "outside world". He traveled Europe while studying for a master's degree in the UK. In the following five years, Joseph made his footprints in Africa, Europe, Asia and Americas... he has travelled almost all over the world.

During his tour in Southeast Asia in 2017, Joseph met a girl who was also an intern at G-MEO, and soon they fell in love. Joseph then decided to stay in Chengdu and build a future with his beloved. Now Joseph and his girlfriend have a happy life in Chengdu.

"Maybe I will stay in Chengdu in the future and have a family, but I will not stop exploring the world for my whole life."
